Becoming Unglu’d and Me…..

My name is Colette, I’m a wife, mother & entrepreneur (of sorts) …  So, those are my “labels” some would probably (my husband) included call me a Hippy.  I’ll take it, labels have never bothered me, because we all have them, we can choose them, reject them, doesn’t matter we still get them.  Anyway my most recent acquisition in labels is Gluten Free, I was very sick (you can read a post or two about it) for a very long time before figuring out what was wrong.  I am Gluten Intolerant, I will be putting up some posts about that as well & what the differences are between an intolerance, an allergy & Celiac disease.  I have been attempting a start-up business venture, or adventure if you will, preparing gluten-free meals & delivering them to order to my local community, this is currently on the back burner due to start-up costs.  I will however be offering private chef services (I use as many, fresh, organic & local ingredients as possible), locally within the next few months.  I will also be offering cooking classes & workshops as well.  Along with cooking gluten-free, I also offer a variety of allergen friendly recipes as well & try to label them as such.  I am Serve Safe (food manager) Certified & and Allergen certified through the State of Massachusetts, I also hold all necessary business & catering licenses.  I will be updating this blog as well to help educate people on how to live well and gluten-free & hopefully on a tight budget (because that’s what my budget is, Tight!)  And hopefully we can add and maintain plenty of humor all along this journey!!

  1. I will be a faithful follower to your blog! Thank you! I will need all the tips and an optimistic outlook to get through this.

    • Kristina, you’ll get through it & you’ll feel great & feeling better is what will get you through it. I will provide any resources I can. I know it was quite overwhelming for me to contemplate cleaning out my entire pantry, etc. & starting over, learning everything again in a new way. You’ll get there & you will find a community of people to help as well. Thanks for your comment.

  2. Hi! I’m Sue, and I’m from SlimKicker, a diet/fitness app and site. I found your blog a few days ago and it captured my interest!

I’m contacting you b/c we’re about to release a fitness tracker (similar to FitBit) early next year, and are looking for bloggers who would be interested in getting 1 for free to review when it is out (negative or positive).

Would you be interested in doing this? You can email me at: sue (at) slimkicker (com) with ‘Review’ in the email heading if you are.

A brief explanation of who we are, our site SlimKicker basically turns your diet/fitness goals into a fun level-up game. The tracker will work with the website, and allow people to track calories burned and number of steps they walk automatically. The more they exercise, the more points they rack up! That’s basically how it will work.

Anyway, hope to hear back either way…

    – Sue
P.S. You can choose not to publish this comment as this is more of a private comment 🙂

  3. Colette,
My name is Maryjane (mjm58). I have also been not feeling well. I had read some articles trying to figure out what was wrong. I came across an article on gluten-intolerant. I thought I would try changing my diet for a week, I could not believe the difference. I have not seen a doctor, but have changed to be gluten free. It is a challenge for me, I was an avid baker. I use the internet to find anything I can about it and of course cooking gluten free and more natural.

    • Maryjane, I hope you find my blog helpful, I try to post easy budget friendly recipes, not over complicated. I do a LOT of baking!! I actually feel like I’m a better scratch baker now that I’m gluten-free than I was before. I take more chances & they usually pay off.
